The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, on Monday joined the world to commemorate the 2025 International Day of Peace with a symbolic Peace Walk across Osogbo.
Leading officers and men of the Command from Olaiya Under Bridge to Adolak Event Centre, Commandant CC Igbalawole Sotiyo emphasized the need for tolerance, dialogue, and unity as the bedrock of a peaceful and prosperous society.
He urged Osun residents to reject communal clashes, political violence, and any actions capable of disrupting peace in the state, stressing that lasting development can only thrive in an atmosphere of harmony.
The United Nations designates September 21 each year as International Day of Peace. Commandant Sotiyo reaffirmed NSCDC’s commitment to this global initiative, pledging continuous efforts in fostering dialogue, collaboration, and peaceful coexistence in Osun State.
