Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Monday that Israel is on the brink of completing its mission to dismantle the military capabilities of Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Addressing students during a meeting, Netanyahu affirmed that the ongoing strikes targeting Hamas remnants would persist until all military objectives are met.
“Yesterday, I returned from a tour of the Gaza division’s location. I witnessed significant achievements in the battles fought in Rafah,” Netanyahu revealed. “We are nearing the end of the elimination phase of the Hamas ‘terrorist army.’ The strikes against its remnants will continue.”
Netanyahu’s statements come amid a backdrop of intense military operations in the Gaza Strip, specifically aimed at crippling Hamas’s infrastructure and command centers. The Prime Minister’s remarks underscore Israel’s determination to eradicate the threat posed by Hamas, which has long been a source of conflict in the region.
Dmitry Gendelman, an adviser to the Prime Minister, corroborated Netanyahu’s assertions, indicating that the intense phase of fighting in Gaza is approaching its conclusion.
“The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will swiftly transition to the next phase of operations, ensuring that our strategic objectives are fully realized,” Gendelman said.
The recent escalation follows years of intermittent conflict between Israel and Hamas, with periodic flare-ups leading to significant casualties and destruction on both sides. Israel’s current offensive, described as one of the most decisive in recent years, aims to dismantle Hamas’s ability to launch attacks and maintain its grip on the Gaza Strip.
As the conflict continues, the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire, with international observers calling for measures to protect civilians and ensure the delivery of aid. Despite these concerns,
Netanyahu’s government remains resolute in its pursuit of a comprehensive military victory over Hamas.
