In a significant shakeup of his media team, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has dismissed two female media aides as part of a restructuring effort within the Government House.
The affected aides, Ewatomilola Emiola, Senior Special Assistant on Research & Documentation, and Kikelomo Isijola, Special Assistant on Digital Media, were relieved of their duties in a move that is seen as part of ongoing reforms to enhance the efficiency of the state’s media operations.
A statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, confirmed the dismissals, urging the former aides to promptly hand over all government property to the Chief of Staff’s office. The statement further acknowledged their contributions to the administration, with Governor Aiyedatiwa expressing his gratitude for their service.
While the reasons behind their removal remain unclear, the decision is being seen as part of a broader effort by Governor Aiyedatiwa to streamline the media department and ensure that it functions more effectively in delivering information to the public.
Despite the sudden nature of the announcement, the governor’s office reassured the public that the reshuffling is aimed at improving the communication dynamics within the state’s government machinery. The dismissed aides have been wished success in their future endeavors, leaving room for speculation about who will fill their positions.
The reshuffle is likely to signal changes in the state’s media strategy as Governor Aiyedatiwa continues his efforts to strengthen his administration’s public relations and outreach.
