Two months after the gubernatorial election in Ondo State, local government elections commenced today, but reports of delays have already surfaced in Akure South Ward 9, Unit 60.
As of 9:18 AM, no election materials or officials were present at the polling unit, according to a Lens AfricaTV reporter on the scene.

The absence of materials and personnel left voters visibly frustrated, raising concerns about the preparedness of the electoral commission.
These delays threaten to impact voter turnout in the crucial council polls, which are seen as a grassroots test of governance and public trust following the state’s gubernatorial election.
Stakeholders are urging immediate intervention to resolve logistical challenges and prevent disenfranchisement.
Observers remain vigilant as voters across the state elect their local leaders, emphasizing the importance of accountability in ensuring the credibility of the polls.
