A shocking revelation emerged on Sunday as Delhi Police confirmed that recent bomb threat emails sent to three schools in the city were orchestrated by their own students. The threats, which had caused panic and disrupted school activities, were traced to two siblings studying in one of the schools.
The Delhi Police Special Cell, after an initial probe, discovered that the students had fabricated the threats in an attempt to delay their upcoming examinations. During a counselling session, the siblings admitted they had drawn inspiration from similar incidents of bomb threats targeting schools, a police official disclosed.
“They confessed to sending the emails as a prank, not realizing the gravity of their actions,” the officer added.
The students were released after their parents were issued a stern warning. Police have urged schools and parents to educate children about the severe consequences of such actions, both legally and emotionally.
The incident has sparked widespread discussions on the role of social media in influencing young minds and the importance of mental health support in schools. Authorities have assured heightened monitoring to prevent future occurrences.
This incident serves as a sobering reminder of the impact of misinformation and the necessity for responsible digital behavior.
